杭州师范大学沈钧儒法学院成立于2001年9月，是浙江省内法律人才培养与法学研究的重要基地。学院秉承“刚正、求实、博学、笃行”的院训。现有全日制在校本科生600余名，研究生60余名。设有法学、知识产权两个专业，法学专业是省重点建设专业，知识产权专业是省内首批设立的专业。学院拥有法学一级学科硕士点。民商法学科为省级重点学科。
学院设有法治中国化研究中心、全国预防青少年犯罪研究基地、青少年法制教育研究中心、公法与法理、民商法学、刑法学、经济法学与国际法学、诉讼法学、知识产权研究所等多个学术研究机构；先后主办、承办了纪念宪法20周年学术研讨会、第七届东亚行政法国际学术会议、东北亚成年监护制度等学术会议，举办了50多期“法学名家”讲坛；还通过“法学沙龙”、“钱塘法治论坛”、“学术午餐会”等多种形式活跃学术氛围，形成了以实证研究为核心的学术研究特色；编辑的《钱塘法律文库》已陆续出版了多部高质量的学术专著。
学院拥有一支结构合理、富有活力的高水平师资队伍。现有专任教师39人，其中教授6名，副教授22名，高级职称比例达72％，博士（含在读）20人（占专任教师51％）。知名法学家范忠信教授的加盟，进一步提升了师资实力。学院还引进了学院还引进了著名法学家、省高端人才於兴中先生，聘请了台湾高雄大学法律学系陈子平教授等兼职教授，聘请了北京大学陈兴良教授为钱塘法律学者。师资队伍中有“全国优秀教师”、“国务院政府特殊津贴专家”、“教育部新世纪优秀人才”、“浙江省十大中青年法学家”、“杭州市青年英才”等杰出人才。
学院教师在《中国社会科学》、《中国法学》、《法学研究》、《政法论坛》、《法学家》、《法制与社会发展》、《现代法学》、《法律科学》《环球法律评论》、《比较法研究》等法学核心期刊上发表学术论文近100篇，出版专著20余部，教材40余部，承担了包括国家社科基金规划课题、国家自然科学基金课题、教育部人文社科研究项目、最高人民法院、最高人民检察院调研课题在内的国家级、省部级课题30多项。多名教师在各级学术机构担任重要学术职务。
学院以“宽口径，厚基础，重理论，强能力”为办学宗旨，注重培养学生综合素质及实践能力训练。学院拥有模拟法庭、证据科学实验室、法律服务中心、法律诊所等实验室以及几十家实习实训基地；通过法院旁听、模拟法庭、法学沙龙、法律咨询、法律服务、法律诊所等方式培养学生法律实践能力，形成了较具特色的校内外结合的开放办学模式。学院设有法学社、心语读书会等９个学生社团，校园文化生活丰富。
学院重视国内外交流。浙江智仁律师事务所、众和教育机构在学院设有智仁奖学金、众和教育奖学金；与浙江大学、美国加州大学洛杉矶分校等学校建立了交换生交流学习项目；与美国康奈尔大学法学院、美国ＥＭＯＲＹ大学法学院等院校建立了学术交流合作关系。考入本院的优秀学生还将有机会推荐进入美国ＥＭＯＲＹ大学法学院攻读研究生。
学院培养的毕业生理论功底扎实，操作能力强，适应面广，受到用人单位的欢迎与好评。近两年来，本科生国家司法考试通过率保持在60％左右，名列全省前列；考取各级国家公务员、事业单位及大学生村官占毕业生总数25％左右。
Brief Introduction to the Shen Jun Ru Law School of Hangzhou Normal University Founded in September 2001, the Law School of Hangzhou Normal University has grown up as an important base for legal talent training and legal research in Zhejiang province. The Law School has been adhering to the motto of being “upright, factual, learned and action-oriented”. Currently, there are more than 600 full-time undergraduates and 60 graduates at school. There are two bachelor degree majors: law and intellectual property. The law major has been the provincially key construction project, and intellectual property was one of the first such majors in Zhejiang province. The Law School owns first-grade discipline of authorizing master degree in law. The civil and commercial law is provincially key subject. The Law School has set up several research institutions, such as the Research Center of the rule of law in China, the Research Base of National Juvenile Delinquency Prevention, the Research Center of Juvenile legal Education, the Research Institution of Intellectual Property, Public Law and Jurisprudence, Civil and Commercial Law, Criminal Law, Economic Law and International Law, Procedure Law. In recent years, the Law School has hosted or undertook several academic meetings, such as “Academic Seminar for Commemorating 20th Anniversary of Constitution”, “the 7th International Academic Conference of Administrative Law in Eastasia”, “the Academic Conference on Adult Guardianship System in North East Asia”. To animate the academic atmosphere, more than 50 lectures of noted jurists have been conducted, and there are also others activities like legal salon, Qiantang Forum on Rule by Law, academic luncheons, thus the Law School has developed its own research characteristics which focus on empirical research. At present, the Qiantang Series edited by the Law School have published in succession a number of high quality academic monographs. The Law School has a well-structured, vigorous and excellent teaching force. Presently, there are 39 full-time teachers in the Law School, including 6 professors and 22 associate professors, thus 72% of the faculty have senior professional titles. In addition, 20teachers are Doctors of Laws (including Ph.D. candidate, accounting for 51% of the faculty). With the join of noted jurist, Professor FAN Zhongxin, the teaching and researching competence of the Law School has been progressively improved. Besides, the Law School has invited Prof. YU Xingzhong, Chair Professor of Cornell University Law School, USA, and Prof.CHEN Ziping, Department of Law in National University of Gaohsiung, Taiwan, to be adjunct professors. Moreover, the Law School has employed Prof. CHEN Xingliang from Beijing University to be Qianjiang Legal Scholar. Among the faculty, there are outstanding talents who have gained great honors such as “National Excellent Teacher”, “Expert Receiving Special Allowance from the State Council”, “New Century Excellent Talents of the Ministry of Education”, “Top 10 Young and Middle-aged Jurists in Zhejiang Province” and “Hangzhou Young Talents”. Teachers of the Law School have published nearly 100 articles in key legal periodicals such as “Social Science in China”, “China Legal Science”, “Chinese Journal of Law”, “Tribune of Political Science and Law”, “The Jurist”, “Law and Social Development”, “Modern Law Science”, “Legal Science”, “Global Law Review” and “Journal of Comparative Law”. At the same time, more than 20 monographs and 40 textbooks have been published. Besides, the Law School faculty had undertaken more than 30 national, ministerial and provincial level research projects including “Planning Project of National Social Science Fund”, “Project of National Natural Science Fund”, “Humanities and Social Science Research Program of the Ministry of Education”, “Investigation Research from the Supreme People’s Court” and “Investigation Research from the Supreme People’s Procuratorate”. A number of teachers hold important academic positions in various academic institutions. Always bearing in mind the running tenet of “broad entrance, solid foundation, profound theory and strong ability”, the Law School pays great attention to the cultivation of students’ comprehensive quality and practice ability. There are moot court, laboratory of evidence science, legal service center, legal clinics and dozens of practice bases. The Law School has developed its own open running manner with the combination of internal and external school resources through the cultivation of the students’ legal practice ability by the court hearing, moot court, law salon, legal advice, legal service and legal clinics. Moreover, the Law School has already set up 9 student societies including Law Society, Xinyu Reading Club, so the campus cultural life is fairly rich and colorful. The Law School attaches great importance to communications both at home and abroad. Zhejiang Unison Law Firm and Zhonghe Education Institution have respectively endowed Unison Scholarship and Zhonghe Education Scholarship in the Law School. Currently, the Law School has established student exchange program with Zhejiang University and University of California at Los Angeles. Furthermore, academic communication and cooperation with the Law School of Cornell University, USA, and Emory University, USA has been set up. Besides, excellent students enrolled in the Law School will have the opportunity to be recommended to get into the law school of Emory University to pursue master degree. Students graduated from the Law School are widely adaptable and have good command of legal theories as well as practical ability. Therefore, they are generally appreciated and praised by employers. For the last two years, approximately 60% of the graduates have passed the National Judicial Test. This rate came out top in the province. Besides, about 25% of the graduates have succeeded in the examination of civil servants at all levels, village officials for college students and positions in public institutions.
